Pinas by Rose Hunter

Against the backsplash today
instead of Oso, the bottle of
tequila: why

has he has taken a new
lover? In the picture, the agave

rosette pine cone grenades

sun-blanched Tiffany lamps
in beige and treacle
with lime between

the axe-wounded

inner ripples around another
core: the heart of the heart

a white cave
into which I have gone
to look for him.

* Oso = Oso Negro, a brand of Mexican vodka.
