Entrance Ways by Linda Ann Strang

The first doorway:
the smile that you echo,
the craven cave image of love.

The second doorway:
the inner heart hummingbird,
beating sunlight into blood.

The third doorway:
between the split caresses
of the spilt lightning milk.

The fourth doorway:
articulated Argus eyes
on the tongue, about 101.

The fifth doorway:
the stink of prickly honey
roughing up the mouth.

The sixth doorway:
the skin sense of a fire map
unfolding from magnetic south.
