Tawas Point by Marc Beaudin

From Mr. Beaudin's recently published book
The Moon Cracks Open: A Field Guide to the Birds.

I sculpt my buddha
in the sand
then watch
as waves peel the layers
grain by grain
like notes falling
from a flute seeking silence
until
all that is left
is the buddha.
