About the Artist:
Bekah Richards is currently an undergraduate student at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Her photography and digital art has been published in Teen Ink, Where the Children Play, and Philosophically Speaking; she has also exhibited artwork in the 2008 Leonard Bernstein Festival of the Arts.
Artist's Statement
"My artwork is created in Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro; I combine several layers of photographs, textures, and colors into a seamlessly integrated "blend", or photomanipulation. I use stock photography from www.sxc.hu, as well as my own photography. I am particularly interested in experimenting with color and texture in order to infuse everyday scenes and subjects with extraordinary and often surreal beauty. I am often inspired by poetry, especially Pablo Neruda and Rainer Maria Rilke."
