Please join us in welcoming guest editor Sharon Hurlbut. Sharon craves flash fiction and poetry for their conciseness, attention to language and imagery, and sense of immediate gratification. She also likes the fact that she can read or write these short forms in the rare quiet spaces of her day. Her two daughters share her love of words and provide plenty of inspiration and support. Under her pen-name Ann Walters, her work has appeared in numerous journals, including Poet Lore, Kalliope, flashquake, Carousel, and Poetry International. Her poem "After Three Hours of Screening Dirt at Heshotauthla" has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize.
Happy holidays! flashquake's staff will be taking a holiday hiatus again this year, from December 15 through January 1. You may still submit work during that period, but do not expect an acknowledgement until we return on January 2.
Our next online class will be Pamelyn Casto's popular Flash Fiction class. It will begin on Monday, January 21, 2008. You can register through PayPal by going to the class page and following the link to PayPal.
