Featured Artist: Ramnath Siva
Artist Statement: Ramnath Siva has been in the United States for the past six years, though most of his early pursuits in photography have been in his home country, India. He feels that the warm palette seen in his pictures reflects the warmth of the people back home. Every year, he visits India to shoot images of its people, its vibrant colors and its rich history.
Artist Biography: Ramnath Siva lives in Chicago but is currently doing a troubleshooting project for the bank he works for in India. Siva gives a great deal of attention to color, texture and composition in his work, carefully composing his subjects to strike the perfect balance of all of these elements of interest. He works with a digital camera and prints his images on 13 X 19 inch Epson photo paper. Epson inks and papers are archival and his work is executed to last. Recent exhibits include Chicago Photographers at 33 Collective Gallery in Chicago and "3", Three Men, Three Cultures, Three Ways of Seeing at Tall Grass Arts Association Gallery in Park Forest Illinois.
