Artist's Statement:

"I grew up in a house on stilts in a Florida swamp, so my Primordialist Surface Paintings are my humble attempt to re-connect with the vegetal chaos and sulfuric majesty of my particular experience in nature. Primordialism takes its name from the Primordial Waters of the early Earth. For this reason, my paintings have a surface reminiscent of the swamp, piled with chunks of pigment, smoothed with a vitreous acrylic which represents and mimics water. Because my art contains a surface with depth, in which images rise while the viewer's eyes sink, a metaphorical life-cycle arises, an exchange between creation and contemplation."
