Artist's Statement:
I like my watercolors and none are for sale. I paint the things I like and keep them around me for quick trips to the places I love without getting out of my chair.
Artist's Biography:
The first painting I did was at age 6 or 7. It was an oil of a peach tree in bloom. I continued in oils into my early 20's when I decided I didn't have anything inside to say. For the next 40 years, I only occasionally sketched in pen and ink. Later, I touch lightly on Japanese brush painting. Twenty-five years ago I tried watercolor but got discouraged.
From my time at Michigan Tech until retirement I was a mechanical engineer. After retirement, a lady friend encouraged me to do more with my art. Without the drudge of working, I started sketching and took watercolor classes. Again I was discouraged by my early attempts, but my friend encouraged me to continue. I did continue. Now I am proud to be an obstinate curmudgeon who likes what I like. I like my paintings.
