Artist's Biography:
Mary Bookwalter's prints quietly invite the close-up examination of the viewer. Her work may depict altered landscapes or flowers, maps, targets, and symbols which tell a story of respect for the earth with ink, paper and press. Her work, always autobiographical, recalls her Kansas background and reflects upon the events that shape one's life.

Trained in traditional printmaking methods, her work of the last several years has moved toward mixed media monoprints and often incorporates many print techniques into the presswork including digital scans and image manipulations.
