These pencil drawings are visual surrealist narratives. The intention is that they not hang passively on the wall but stimulate a dialogue. They are meant to provoke questions. My family and the nature surrounding my studio have become the resource for my visual vocabulary. I am inspired by continuous changes observed through inner connnectedness felt by engaging time and the positive metamorphosis of the body and spirit. It is possible to see the full potential of life in nature and I find it imperative to offer this image to the viewer through drawing.

I live my life and record it. I shoot to remember and to understand. With my pictures I speak of people who inspire me and spaces that amaze me. With my pictures I tell stories I would not be vocal to tell in any language.Carla Carr
