Text Description
Shima is a portrait of an oriental woman in three-quarter view facing left. Her face and clothes are dappled with light as if she is standing beneath a tree with long finger-like leaves. This allows for a stylized brush stroke that runs diagonally from lower left to upper right within the frame. Warm colors define the woman’s clothes and the background recedes with the use of deep greens.
