A large woman looking like a prison matron but wearing starched nurses dress and hat slides a hand under the arm of an elderly woman who is walking with aid the a walker.  The nurse has full brightly painted lips and her head is tilted slightly toward the ceiling as if she is superior to the job she is performing.  The elderly woman looks straight ahead at the center of the painting.  She is wearing a dress with a large gaudy print and slippers that match nothing except her pale lips.  Her gaze is direct and her face is full of wrinkles that she wears proudly.
